What project work were you involved in during your time at the Civic Consulting Alliance?

Over the past month and a half, I’ve worked on the Mayoral Transition Acceleration project. I was able to leverage my background in data analytics to prototype an executive dashboard to provide the new Mayor a concise, real-time snapshot of key metrics and messages across city agencies and topics.

What will you take away from your time at Civic Consulting?

The people I worked with made a big impression on me. Everyone is unbelievably qualified and dedicated to the organization’s mission, and very friendly as well. It’s been a privilege for me to be able to work alongside such talented people at Civic Consulting Alliance.

What was your most memorable experience during your time at Civic Consulting?

In March, I attended two events that featured the Mayoral runoff candidates, Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle. The proximity I felt to Chicago’s key decision-makers through moments like these had a profound effect on me. Experiences like this made Chicago feel like a tight-knit community, and made me feel empowered as a resident able to be part of the solution to problems facing our city.

How has your time at Civic Consulting helped you develop professionally?

My time here gave me the opportunity to work with incredibly talented and dedicated professionals who focus primarily on public sector work, which is largely disjointed from the quantitative finance field that I specialize in. It was a chance for me to appreciate the breadth of problems that management consultants seek to solve, and to gain perspective on the range of approaches that the industry applies.
